A Letter from Board Member

Hello everyone!

I hope all of you are dressed warm under the unpredictable Chicago weather!

TSA board is pleased to announce that we will plan to have a Halloween "Pot Luck" and "Hot Pot" Party on Friday October 28 at Chih-Chun and Jung-Ren's place.

"Pot Luck" means that everyone who attends need to bring one dish to the party. This is a great chance not only to share your talent in cooking but also try your peers' dishes!! TSA will provide hotpot and 火鍋料. It is okay if you don't have time to cook, just bring any food (appetizer, entree or dessert are all welcome!). You are also welcome to use CCC and Jung-Ren's kitchen (They've got gas oven and microwave.)

After dinner, we will play the movie 七劍 by 徐克. For more information about the film, please check http://www.sevenswordsthefilm.com/

***Since we'll be having hotpots, we kindly ask if anyone has "electric oven" (電磁爐) and pot that TSA can borrow to use for the party. If you have either one of the equipments and would like to lend for the TSA party, I would really appreciate if you can let me know.

***Please reply to Sherry at chingyi@uchicago.edu once you decide the dish you're bringing by next Tuesday Oct. 25 .

Bullet Points:
-What: Halloween Pot Luck + Hot Pot Party + Movie
-When: 10/28/05 Friday (7PM)
-Where: Chih-Chun Chien and Jung-Ren Huang's place - 5550 S Dorchester
Ave. (At the corner of Dorchester and 56th)
-Bring: Your 拿手菜!!!

Ha, since it's Halloween, everyone is welcome to dress in costumes.. :)

Have a wonderful week,
Sherry Hwang

TSA Membership and Activities

Hello everyone!

Sorry for so many e-mails from me. I apologize for didn't clarify earlier about TSA membership. TSA sponsored activities are free to all TSA members. There is a membership fee of $5, in which we collected at the Oct. 1 Incoming Student Welcome Party earlier this quarter. Once you paid the $5 fee, you're officially a TSA member. We kindly ask you to pay the membership fee if you have not yet done so and are interested in attending future TSA activities (such as 10/28 Halloween Pot-Luck, Outlet Shopping Tour, New Year Party..etc.). You can simply pay at the pot-luck party this Friday. We appreciate your understanding that TSA has limited budget. If you have any concerns, please feel free to contact any four TSA board members.

***Please e-mail Sherry at by Tuesday midnight if you want to come to potluck party so we can prepare enough food for the Hot-Pot. So far we have a great turnout of 18 people and we have a variety of desserts and food.

Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions.

Regards,
Sherry Hwang
